Cook Island Language Week 2016

KIA ORANA!!! Welcome to Cook Island Language Week 2016 at Apii Potiki!!!
Today's celebrations kicked off with a small group of tamariki taking a walk down to Glen Innes Library to participate in an exciting community event.
This event involved many Cook Island community groups coming together to raise the Cook Island flag, sing songs, and dance to the sounds of pacifika music. Meanwhile, back at apii, tamariki were also keeping busy with making their Cook Island flags, and having shared discussions about identity.
MEITAKI MAATA to our parents and families who assisted with our tamariki today.
Keep posted for more daily
celebrations this week...

  1. It was so impressive how the tamariki walked nicely to the library. However, their songs and dances were even more lovely. Well done! Esther
