Spontaneous walks within our community take place at times when the sun is shining, and our tamariki want to participate.
We were fortunate enough to be invited into our new Te Oro building by Jenny, who asked if we'd like to have a look around...
As Jenny gave us a guided tour, she explained that each room within Te Oro has been named after particular places within our community.
Our tamariki got to experience the first class sound and computer room, we had a little sit down in the creative arts room, and the dance studio was where our tamariki had the opportunity to move their bodies in many different ways in front of the large dance mirrors.
Meitaki Jenny from Te Oro! You really made us feel at home in this new space within our community (Belonging/Community/Relationships)
After our tour of Te Oro, we headed next door to see our librarian friend Mama June. Unfortunately Mama June was not on today, but that was ok, we still enjoyed our time reading, and exploring through the many books and shelves. We also brought some books back to Apii Potiki for our friends.
Kia Orana Apii Potiki,
ReplyDeleteWow, what an awesome experience you've had exploring our brand new Music and Arts centre in GI - Te Oro.
My favourite feature of Te Oro are the huge corner carved posts.
Some of the staff and students went to the opening of Te Oro and is was really cool watching local community groups perform such as Pt England Primary School and Glen Taylor Primary School.
Thanks for sharing your community experience.
Keep up the good work Apii Potiki children and staff.
