BBQ Fundraiser-Working Together

What an awesome turnout we had for our first fundraiser for our end of year excursion!

With the helpful hands of our parents & whanau, and the organisation of our apii staff, our efforts are looking promising.
Meitaki maata to all our parents/whanau, staff & friends who assisted with the preparation, cooking, selling, buying & cleaning up on the day.
An extra special 'Thank You' to the families who kindly gave koha/donations.
Apii Potiki is grateful for the time & kindness that was shared today.
Way to go TEAM!

Water Safe Auckland

Meitaki Maata to Alan from Water Safe Auckland...

Today we were presented with an opportunity to strengthen our knowledge around water safety.
Alan from Water Safety Auckland made this time fun and interactive for our tamariki, as he encouraged them to get involved and participate in some life saving manoeuvres and discussions.

More from Maori Language Week

Here, we are baking takakau bread, making flags, weaving, painting, singing, dancing etc.

It is really important to us here at apii, that te reo Maori & culture be implemented on a daily basis, rather than only once a year during Maori Language Week.

Maori Language Week

Kia Ora Whaea Ann & Papa J!
What a wonderful learning opportunity we were provided with this morning (11.09.2017) when Whaea Ann & Papa J from our local Ruapotoka Marae came to visit.
Whaea Ann & Papa J came to apii to teach us some Maori language. Through karakia, waiata, & story telling, our tamariki, parents & staff were able to learn new words in te reo Maori.
After our learning session, tamariki were very happy to eat the delicious rewana bread that Whaea Ann had kindly baked & prepared for us...such a treat!
Kia ora & Meitaki Maata to Whaea Ann & Papa J for taking time out of their busy day to share their culture with us here at Apii Potiki...we are really grateful & appreciate your kindness.
